    For the post above...

But do post up a build thread, at the very least you can use it to see how far you've come etc. and is quite often a good thing to have if you decide to sell the car later on. Treat the car as a project, because essentially it is and the best way to manage it is to break it down with a to do list and set some realistic goals to get things done.

By electrical issues i assume you mean no spark?

... and here I am, thinking I read the thread... ffs.
I read the replies about running a carby on a 4AGE and was perplexed why you were talking about it... now it all makes sense ><

Doesn't really wipe half my list off.. just pushes it down under "get the eletrics working". I'm guessing the 4AGE was swapped into it, correct?
Do accessories work? Does it try turn over? Does your fuel pump run? Is there anything that doesn't work that should.. eg/ headlights don't turn on when they keys in the acc. position, wipers, don't work, radio doesn't work but everything else does.

Yeah the 4AGE has been swapped into it buy the previous owner and was running at one point, he did tell me exactly what was going on with the electrics, but I can't recall what he said at the moment. As I have a case of Monday-itis.
One the weekend I'll get stuck into it and see what's going on where, and if I'm lucky, I may just find and fix the problem. If not, I'll give you people the run down on what's happening. And maybe someone could help me out.

Mods tend to be individualised on what people find more important. Rust and servicing should probably be a priority for prelong use (even if you use fish oil, cavity wax), get familiar with your car and observe what needs to be replaced e.g. crack bushes, worn tyres etc. Take your time and enjoy the drive.

Personally I like to modify driver controls (foot pedals, shifter swing, steering wheel, seat adjustability, steering reach through extension hubs) as this is what you are using to control your car and you get to enjoy it everytime you drive.

Completely agree with tuned 86, nothing worse than setting up everything and then falling out of the seat mid corner.

Might be biased cause i sell them but shocks can make or break a cars feel/fun factor, chopping the springs just doesn't cut it, at the very least(if it hasn't already been done) get uprated shocks(something from the commodore variety for the rear, celica stuff for the front) some stiffer springs from a falcon and some good tyres. If budget allows feel free to PM, i sell some pretty good gear

    ^^^^ Definately agree with this...

Good suspension can make "almost" any car car fun.... replacing worn bushes as well make the hugest difference

After tinkering around with the '86 this weekend, turns out I have not spark, that's only thing stopping it from rawring into life. Anyhow, I've managed to get everything else working! And added a few nice bits along the way.

Once you have done all that ^^^ and you have owned the car for a while take it to a track so you can really see how it performs
