    Default Gauges/senders/sensors what works?

Currently in the market for electronic Omori gauges and a common problem I'm having is that majority if not all I've come across so far do NOT come with senders/sensors, just the gauges themselves and chopped wires out the back... now this is fine i understand they aren't easy to find as they are discontinued, what my question is, how can i get these to work correctly? what are my options in solving this issue? What senders/sensors can i use to suit?

    Gauges in question:
-Electronic Omori Gauges - Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Water Temp

I've had a look on ebay and have found temp sensors and oil pressure sensors, which look to be quite genenric/universal (i know specific thread is needed for the oil pressure sender going into block on the side). Will these work if i connect the wiring to the gauges? are there specific types/requirements i should be looking for?

What other alternatives do i have?

I do understand there are other brands of gauges that are probably cheaper/easier/similar quality that come with senders etc etc. That's fine, i do have other options ( STACK, VDO even autometer) but i really want to sort out the omori avenue to work out if it's a viable option for me

I do apologize if this is a stupid question, or has been covered. Feel free to point me to a thread if it has and this can be deleted.

You would need to work out their resistance according to the gauge, i.e. does the sender read appropriately to the gauge whether it be degrees or pressure etc.

yeah i've heard theres resistances that need to be matched... was hoping for some guidance in this regard though

Simple way is to boil water and see what a gauge says with a sensor. I guess if it reads higher than what it would be (90-100) just add a resistor until it reads within range? Maybe Tridon have ranges on their website?

i haven't purchased any yet. I was hoping i could sort this all out prior to purchase, making sure i get the correct gear. I've had a quick look at tridon and to be honest, im not exactly sure what im looking for, I'm quite clueless in this topic....most items here specify things like thread sizing, circuit types and sometimes a temp or pressure value... but again this all eludes me.

Vdo publish sensor data, Bosch do but it's fairly useless. Good luck with everyone else, especially a company that's no longer in business.

The only way is to buy a gauge and do what timbo said. But you'd need to buy a whole bunch of senders and find one with about the right range and try and manipulate it be what omori wants.

Might as well just buy SPA gauges and not even look at them. Or even higher quality, better functionailty aircraft gauges that are cheaper than motorsport gauges but far less wank. Hook up the external switch to the jdm speed chime, that'd be totally sweet.

I was driving down the highway just after I installed my oil temp/pressue gauges and discovered I had used the chime as an accessory positive to give them light. subsequently they flashed when over 100km/h. True story.
