Rust in bottom of door fixed.
Oh and new wheels to re-ferb
Thought I had better get around to doing one of these and see if it would spark some interest. Also to give you all a reason to laugh at my "sweet skills" as well as to seek advice!
So as the title says, below is my 1982 KE70 Wagon. Is a 2 door model, I haven't seen many of these in the flesh around the place which is what appealed to me.
I do plan for this to be somewhat a long term project, I don't expect everything to be done overnight as I hope to do most things myself and with the help of family/friends.
Right, so plans are as follows:
Rid of rust
Front end conversion
Panel & paint
Reupholster interior (Swap brown, for black bits)
Suspension & Breaks
In regardsto the engine, it has a 4k in it with an exhaust system, twin carbs, a few other little things and also a 5 speed g/box. This will do for now, until everything else is done. I think I wil go for worked 5k but thing could change.
Enough talking, time for photos!
I didn't get many photos of it before I started ripping it to bits but heres one from the rear end
Some cancer photos
All plated up, rookie welding but does the job!
All poo'd up (still obviously not finnished but have slapped some rust reventative over the top to stop moisture being absorbed)

Well thats all the major rust, there is a couple of other little spots here and there.
Not a fan of this so off it goes
Front end off!!
This is how she sits now. I haven't had much time lately (exuses excuses I know..)
KP and KE together.
Let me know of your thoughts. Cheers lads

good work man
Great work mate! Should come out well.
Wish we got more cool Jap imports like the 2 door wagon over here, you guys are lucky folks.
Cheers guys - I also hope it comes out well!
I'm going to attempt to take out the other side window this weekend, strip it and see wats lurking.. I am hoping its not too bad but even if it is - always up for the challange!
Do they not have these over there? This was actually NZ Built in Thames NZ
are you selling that chrome front bumper?
Shit man, thats the 3rd time i've had that question.. Are they hard to find in AUS or something? They're always popping up for around $80 NZD.. It may be worth the shipping depending on price over there. Cheers but no - it's not for sale. Cheers
We only got plastic bumpers over here, so they're kind of sought after. I've bought some from trademe before but 9 times out of 10 when something cool pops up for sale the seller isn't willing to send
Ahh bugger! That sucks dude. Yeah chrome bumpers are cool.
Got a little bit of work done today, pics to follow soon ish
