So on Saturday after I finished work I made a quick trip out westish to pick up up water pump pulley as my shiney T3 ones didn't line up at all, don't ask me why. Then I made a quick trip out to Nimbin to grab a lend of my mates engine crane then we got stuck in to putting in the blacktop.
Post will mainly be photos because I'm to lazy to type I've spent all day every day working on it since the 22nd and I'm over it, haha.
On the crane.
Nearly there.
After a fair amount of dicking around and cursing it all jammed in there. It was a struggle to get the dizzy cover past the firewall with the gearbox attached.
Clearance between dizzy cap and heater lines. I shit myself because i slammed the engine into the brass heater outlet on the firewall and it started leaking, just gave it a good dent though.
Many lonely days.
Followed by lonely nights.
After a discussion on catch can routing and return I decided to not run mine back to the sump, so I dodged up my current setup with stuff at home to make it work and allow me to tell how full it is.
I decided it was to over the top so I just used a single piece of tubing.
Heater and water lines all hooked up.
Throttle cable all hooked up.
Loom going in, had some confusion with the ISCV so thanks goes out to Seamus for helping me out with some advice.
Made some brackets from shelving arms from Bunnings to fit up 2 Davies Craig 10 inch thermo's wired to the ECU.
Mounted up in car.
Extractors fitted up.
Filling the gearbox oil. Nek minute, falls off and attempts to roll out the door into the forester. Forgot to put the handbrake on.
Chucked on some Uni Filters.
And it's done and out of the garage, first move in 8 months.
On to the death trailer for short trip across town for tuning. Stupid trailers jockey wheel popped out and nearly ripped the rear bumper off the forester, will be writing a strongly worded letter about trailer safety to 'Move Yourself' enterprise, haha.
And some random pictures.
From here it's gone to get a little wiring cleaned up and then on dyno for a tune. Hopefully all will turn out sweet with no dramas.
Dan.
