Yep, a good exhaust doesn't cost much in terms of HP anyway....

Right on ^... if your running an SR with a straight thru pipe, forget it. way to much bark.
you will need atleast a say - assuming you have a cat... a small center muffler or resonator and a rear muffler... cannon or whatever..
    no screamer pipes.

can grab cheap silencers off ebay to fit in the tail pipe.

if you have a good Jap cat back system, (not some Just china piece of rubbish) for EG, you will be fine.

On a relativity standard engine an exhaust will make stuff all difference in power, so unless your engine is worked to the shithouse another muffler won't hurt.

even on a worked to the crappa motor... with say a HKS cat... there is a youtube video from a Jap workshop, on a R34 i think... they do a dyno run with and without the cat... the difference was 2hp.

    stuff... its nothing

Hater! You just keep replacing that clutch hay. :p

I actually disagree with this... Even on a stock motor a hi velocity exhaust system will allow the motor to generate more torque and peak power.

Although not dyno proven, but on my S13 , it had a 2" system, center an rear offset mufflers.
I went to a full 3" system, center resonator and rear cannon (kakimoto hyper n1) .
The engine ramped up on boost quicker, producing more torque and more power up top.
Now I think if you can really feel the difference in performance, your going in the right direction.
Motor was completely stock, upped boost to 1bar and front mount.
