    Default 4agte no oil cooler

Hey guys was wondering what your thoughts in running no oil cooler on 4agte.
I am currently converting my ae 92 ze to turbo and have no room for the oil cooler kit without stuffing around so would I be right without one the car will only be used for track days just wanted to get some opinions.
I thought itnwouldnbr ok with no oil cooler as i use good oils. Any thought would be great.

track days is the main reason you should put one on!

take the time, do it once, do it properly.

fit oil temp gauge, and watch your oil temp on your next track day. That would be the proper subjective manner to evaluate if it is necessary.

Some people find that an oil cooler makes their oil too cold on track days on their 4agte - perhaps they are using oversized coolers tho, and perhaps without thermostatic control

Over-cooled lol, surely must be a massive cooler to result in that. I use a vt commonwhore cooler with what ever metric size is close to -6 and stock sandwich plate. Sits on 80degrees normal driving and have only got it near 100 (95~) at the drags.

using an aftermarket high pressure oil cooler kit - it is most definitely possible.
Its only a teeny weeny 4A remember, and most of those aftermarket oil cooler kits (usually supplied with oil filter relocator) dont have a thermostatic control - oil flows thru the cooler on the high pressure side all the time.

If you are using an OEM type cooler using the stock 4A sandwich plate, which is on the LOW PRESSURE side and is thermostatically controlled..... then YES you should not overcool your oil.

We are talking about two different products in reality here

I wasn't saying it was impossible, just surprised that anyone would achieve it.

Yes, we are talking to different products; one that functions and one that is a fad.
