Wakefield Test Results
Wakefield Racetrack in Goulburn was hired for the day to do some testing, and with the Toyota 86 retaining completely bog stock form (Tunehouse Racing decals aside) with John Boston of Trackschool at the wheel he was able to reel off a respectful time of 1:14.7 around the track.
The biggest complaint raised by our members and other Toyota 86 owners is the tyres from factory are somewhat underwhelming and don't match the sporty nature of the car. With that in mind Tunehouse racing installed a set of Toyo Tyres R888 215/45R17’s on Speedy Rims and set out for another session.
These tyres saw the lap times drop by an impressive 2.1 seconds to a consistent time of 1:12.5 seconds.
Tunehouse Racing reported John saying “it already indicates how well these cars are set up from the factory floor. It brake well, steers well and goes… It seems very well balanced overall and doesn’t seem to under steer or over steer at all. Let’s hold out until after lunch and see if the track dries out…”
Future Parts Testing Scheduled
The stock suspension allows the car to be unsettled when you hit ripple strips, so a set of TEIN Monoflex Suspension is lined up ready to install along with a sweet sounding HKS SPec L Exhaust System (7KG Lighter than the factory setup).

Allot of development has been done on this car.
It now has a HKS supercharger, along with Billstein coilovers.
