Ran into some more issues, I'm having trouble finding good enough bearings to suit the 40mm big ends so I've picked up a small port bottom end to use the crank and block as my 3-rib block has some corrosion I would need to weld up. I'm aiming for a budget built 16v bigport comparable to a blacktop basically. Specs will be something like this;
Hypereutectic 81.5mm/82mm bore pistons with a small dome top
Balanced, knife edged and undercut 42mm crank with King or ACL bearings
BC Econorods or similar, might even balance the standard ones depending on costs
Flow bench developed 16V bigport head
292 degree total duration cams I've had ground
I'm also toying with the idea of making my own inlet manifold and milling the standard throttle body to a bigger internal diameter, and running a small amount of nitrous if/when I buy a haltech/link for this.
I will also go through all the oil galleries and do a big clean-up with the die grinder. Hoping to have it all in and running by August/September.
