pretty much
so is club rego the same as normal rego in that it just has to be road leagal and enginered plated for any modifications? ,
pretty much
30kw club
Depending on the state, but most club rego means no modifications...
victoria allows some modifications..
each club approaches it in its own way, and tcca uses our own inspectors in most instances
for some cars that are highly modified or are real shit boxes we will ask the person to provide a RWC rather than put our inspectors in the position of saying yes or now
vicroads have recently stated they don't want club reg cars with 6 point cages being approved, so we won't be saying yes to full caged cars in future
if you have any questions, just ask
Could you please clarify this point? I was under the impression this restriction was for full Vicroads registration, and that club registration is "conditional registration" as discussed here:
Thanks in advance
I have asked the blokes who made the decision to clarify it for me, as I wasn't there on the night it was discussed.
My reading of it is that Vicroads didn't want to say "rollcages are ok in limited use vehicles" with their latest amendments, which would have covered rally permit cars, and possibly club rego cars too.
Instead they have said, if you car is registered, you will need to present it to VASS engineer to get it ticked off.
Regardless of all that, our club will OK a car with roll cage if it presents with a current roadworthy certificate or engineering paperwork. We probably won't OK a 6 point plus cage without that. Each club ultimately has to decide what they are comfortable signing off, and we are erring on the side of caution in most instances so we don't jeopardise our club rego status.
I believe other clubs have a different approach, so if you are determined to have a roll cage, shop around, we aren't the only club out there
Thanks for the reply. It appears this is more of a case by case, club by club situation, and I understand your clubs viewpoint erring on the side of caution.
