    Default whats a 3SGTE worth?? need to know asap!

    need to know fast. whats a complete working one worth (with and without factory blow-off valve)?. I think it's either gen 1 or 2 please see images i've attached.

    edit: more important actually what would it cost to buy and fit a ST185 gearbox with transfercase? my repairer is telling me $2800 and he is saying the there is only one available and rare as hens teeths therefore very expensive. he didn't say how much I forgot to ask. but I did find this
    he also went on about how difficult the job would be but didn't specify how much it would cost. so does it cost $2000 to fit one of these or is he trying to pull a swifty?

    That's cheap for the box and transfer, while I have never looked under a GT4 it could be similar to an evo where they allow 14 hours to do a clutch on one of the models. Which would still only work out about $1500 @ $100 an hour +GST, so he might be trying to get more out of you but honestly unless someone on here has done one before you won't get much info, it could be an engine out job so 2,3 maybe 4 days labor.

    St185 gt4s are notorious around toyota and the mechanical industry as one of the worst engine bays to work on. It's extremely cramped and hard to work on. I'd say most of that cost comes from the hours of labour because he would most probably have to remove a lot of other things.
