HELP BNE SOUTHSIDE:
I have no end of drama's with my 4age. for some reason it keeps on over heating only after small drives. It can sit and idle/rev in the garage no dramas for ages but as soon as its driven it over heats quickly.
I have fixed all leaks the water pump had, brand new alloy radiator 10" thermo fan and it still over heat. Thermosat was replaced about a month ago and has driven 3 times.
1st time: leaking from bottom of water pump - re gasketed and sealed - fixed
2nd time: no leaks but top tank of my excel radiator expanded causing leaking.
3rd time: new alloy rad, all leaks dealt with little longer drive started idling funning got up to 100deg when i pulled into my garage, opened bonnet and BOOM back hose of the engine comes off coolant everywhere.
I am at a loss why this contunes to happen even though nearly everything is new or has been replaced.
Probably unlikeliest but your thermo isn't wired the wrong way? I was stupid enough to wire one wrong on my 4runner once, did the same thing, it was fine sitting but once moving obviously had zero effect, took me forever to work it out haha.
^^ I did check it and the fan spins the way it is meant to. It's like there is too much pressure building up and the flow isn't going how it should. Would this be the thermosat?
What radiator cap do u hav?? Sounds like its not releasing pressure so keeps blowing hoses or finding the week spots and blowing out.
