Definitely no leaks in the system?
Why did you go S13 Master?
Hi all, so I'm really getting a problem getting my brakes to build up pressure.
Bit of background,
Car (ke70) is running standard booster with s13 (bm44) master cylinder with s13 front callers. I have just put new rear drums and wheels cylinders after my first attempt to bleed the system failed and was told new shoes and drums could fix it. I also adjust the handbrake as I was also told this could be a issue.
So when I first bleed the system the pedal was ok, pedal was soft but It would stop the car somewhat, but the pedal was bottoming out tho. At this stage i checked my booster if it would hold pressure and it did. Also checked the master by holding light pressure on it and it stayed where it was. This told me they were both ok ( I believe ) After I changed the rear shoes and drums I bleed it all again and it becomes worse.
I have since bleed it about 4 times starting from the wheel furthest from the master. Still no luck
If I jump in the car and push the pedal it goes straight to the floor,
pump it a few times and it creates SOME pressure holds about half way,
let go, wait a few seconds push the pedal again straight to the floor again
if I start the car and apply the brake I have pretty much no brake.
seems to me that I have air in the system but I have bleed it about 4 times and no air is coming out.
is the any adjustment in the master or booster I can try? I have played with the adjustment above the pedal itself and still the same thing..
Any pointers of stuff to rule out would be awsome! This is pretty much the only thing holding me back of taking it out for the first drive!!!
Cheers

Yeah checked every connection and can't find any leaks. My old master was rooted needed to be changed was reading a few posts on here and it said bm44 was a good upgrade with s13 calipers.
where are you bleed nipples? most likely you have your calipers upsidedown/left to right vica versa
You might laugh at this, but I have seen it done by people that should have known better. If the front of the car is jacked up higher than the rear and your trying to bleed a system that's full of air it most likely won't bleed out.
99% sure I have the calipers on right, even still the nipples are in the centre of the caliper.
I did have the rear end jacked up lol, but than I did bleed them the other way, from closest to furthest to see if It would make any difference

explain to me how this works?
Works if the line coming of the front of the master is at enough of an angle it traps an air bubble there. This can only happen if your bleeding a system full of air though like he would be having changed calipers and master, if your just bleeding fluid it makes no difference what so ever.
Sounds exactly like the symptoms I had... I mean, an incompetent mechanic I know had, when calipers were swapped left to right. Bleed nipple must be at the highest point of the piston.
Turns out I was 99% wrong !! The calipers were on upside down.!! Brakes are fine yay!
