    Default Hillzy's ae71

well i got a offer to swap my corona for a ae71 and accepted to see it. at first i thought not much of it as it had a odd colour front end and no front bar, lots of rust in the guards but as i looked through the car i could see the potential being a 4ac 5speed(t50). it drove very nice and even with the locker it had lots of grip? never driven with a welded diff before and was a bit anxious driving it for the first time as i didn't know whether it was going to slide or grip. i thought about it that night and said i will do the trade, we discussed a price on top and the deal was done.

    it is a red ae71 - 184000k's
    motor:
    4ac 1.6l
ve calais resinator to straight pipe
    trans:
t50 very tight and nice clutch
    suspension:
    upgraded shocks all round
lowered lovells up front and magna springs out back
vl commodore panhard rod, rear is soo stiff!
    welded diff with new axles
    wheels:
    stockies painted blackkkk

    future plans:
dad says this is my last car for 2 or 3 years so i want it nice and clean. i will give the car either a full respray or just the beige front and touch up the rust areas red again. new metal where rust is and flare guards, get some steelies or anything with dish! the interior is crappy as the old owner tried to paint the interior with export paint so i will eeither vynal spray it all properly or get new door cards original colour. possibly later down the track a 4age conversion

finally had the day to paint the front end red. came out pretty good but not shiny at all. so i will either sand it back with 2000grit and polish it or do a few coats of clear. i used acrylic by the way.

did you accidentally buy just the base coat? looks like it needs a clear coat if its not glossy at all.

heres the front lip bolted and the panels quickly sanded back with 2000 grit and then given a polish. defiantly need to go over it again with another sand as theres still a bit of orange peel then another polish.

also got a new passenger door and sprayed it, much straighter than the old one!

another pic of front chin spoiler
