In. Wouldn't miss it for anything.
It's that time of the year again, the annual Bathurst Cruise.
Date: Sunday, June 30th 2013
Meet Time: 8.30am for 9:30am depart
Meeting Point: McDonalds McGraths Hill - Corner of Windsor Rd and Groves Av. (refer map)
Destination: Mt Panorama, Bathurst
Bring: Yourself, Travelling companion/s, Tunes of choice, jumper or jacket (it will be cool/cold, possibly even wet), full tank of fuel (there are petrol stations in the vicinity of the meet point - we will NOT be stopping after departure), money for lunch, anything else you think you need.
NEWSCASTLE/CENTRAL COAST SUB-MEETS:
If anyone else is planning to arrange a sub-meet point before the cruise, please PM me with details and I will add it to this post.
DAY PLAN & ROUTE:
After our 9:30am departure, we will exit the carpark of the McDonalds/KFC complex and turn right onto Groves Av. We will follow this road for approx 9km until we reach East Market Street, Richmond where we will turn left. We will then take the first right onto March Street where we will continue onto Bells Line of Road and follow all the way to Lithgow.
After coming down the mountain into Lithgow we will follow the road we're on to the end where it intersects Lithgow Street - here we will turn right before taking the next left. Shortly ahead we will stop for a toilet and coffee break at the McDonalds on the right.
Once we've stretched out legs it'll be back into the cars and off on the final stretch of our journey. Turning right out of the McDonalds driveway we will proceed to the lights on the Great Western Hwy where we will turn right again. Follow the Great Western Hwy for 59km - it is then that we'll be entering the town of Bathurst. To get to Mount Panorama from here we will either take a left into Havannah St or William St. William St will take you all the way to the end of Conrod Straight, Havannah Street will require you to turn left onto Panorama Ave before reaching the track.
Upon arrival we will do some laps of the track, take photos, shoot some video, and hang around to enjoy the scenery. A BBQ may be organised once we know how many people will be attending. If this is the case, it will be held in Mcphillamy Park at the top of the circuit (entrance located at the start of Brock Skyline).
OTHER NOTES:
The cruise date has been chosen so far off so that attendees can make arrangements to be able to attend. The date will not be changed. If you can't arrange leave from work, etc, then I'm sorry, but there's always next year.
Once again, I'd also like to extend the invitation to other forums and car clubs to join us on our trip.
