So good. I'd never be brave enough to drive it if I had it. So damn clean.
Thats not bad! Refreshing to see something so clean.
Nothing else to say that hasn't been already (stickers/plates)

Sorry guys, I'm shit with DC!
Thanks for the love!
Yeah, she's real pretty.
Specs on the engine, for those that asked.
Handbuilt in Japan by RS Yasu (hence the cam covers).
Those that know, know they're actually supposed to be hammer-finish green.
But christmas tree vibes wouldn't have been the way to go!
When we were replacing the sump gasket recently-ish, we inspected the underside of the pistons, and we believe that it may have been bored out to 1.8L, and running CA18 pistons.
We haven't confirmed this officially, but it would make sense, as that's RS Yasu's specialty.
So, running this on standard management might be seriously under-utilising it's capabilities!
One day I'll look into it.
Haha, the seats are one of my favourite things.
Most people, even car people, don't notice that they're Recaro's until they're in them, they blend into the 80's-ness so well.
Haha, I drive her every day!
I couldn't keep her in a garage and never drive it, that's not my style.
At the end of the day, it's a car. It's a Corolla. It's not a Ferarri.
Plus, you hardly see these cars in mint condish on the road anymore.
I hate cars with no character, no personality.
The kids don't get a chance to see sweet old JDM flavour terrorising the roads enough in my opinion!
Wish I could ditch the P's, but unfortunately the plate ruining the aesthetics isn't a valid enough reason for the 5-0, go figure!
In other news, I've spoken to Lawrence, the previous owner.
He tells me when he gets a chance, he'll post up some photos of the build + photos of it when he originally took possession of it.
Psyched
i think they mean put it in the corner of the window and not hanging off like a hang ring

I'm glad to see everyone appreciates all the effort that went into this car.
As Alex has mentioned, and I appreciate his acknowledgement I was the one responsible for building this car from the ground up.
I bought it back in August 2008 as a salvage vehicle, it'd been in a minor front end accident.
Arriving at its new home on a trailer covered in 6 months of auction yard dust
Nice and washed, nice vibrant red
You'd never know it was damaged
The damage. Shame really, but I guess if it wasn't damaged then it'd still be owned by its elderly owners.
So when I got it, its specs were as follows:
1983 Toyota Corolla AE71 CS-X
3spd Auto
102,000km's
It had been exceptionally well looked after. When I got it, it even had a newspaper from 1988 in the boot (yes, that's 20 years of sitting in a boot). The boot looked like it hadn't been used in those 20 years either.

Firstly stripped out the dash to remove the auto pedal box ready to put in the manual one:
And then went the 4AC along with its auto gearbox:
I got the power steering setup in and the lines are all mounted for it:
Also got a JDM AE86 fuel line, which conveniently was in the Toyota warehouse in Melbourne. That a long with a whole host of new gaskets:
Built front AE86 struts with new KYB SW20 shocks an Lovell's Super low springs. JDM AE86 brakes also
I also made up this plate to do a better job of the shifter hole:
Suspension fitted:
Acquired a JDM AE86 fuel tank and pump, striped and sealed the inside of the tank.
Starting to look a bit more complete here (Dec 2008):
I had earlier acquired an excellent condition set of SSR Meshies
Along came an AE86 from Japan which kindly donated its engine:
Was very pleased when I unwrapped my new engine:
A lot of time went past and finally a year later (August 2009) the engine was installed and running:
A photo from my first drive after getting it registered (September 2009)
These photos are from Dec 2009, I finally completely detailed the car and brought the paint back to life (Still original paint in these photos)
So another year passed, loved every minute of driving the car and had very few issues.
Unfortunately over that year 2nd gear syncro was starting to play up a little.
So I rebuilt a spare gearbox ready to go in:
My workspace all laid out ready, note second gearbox has a smashed second gear and was used as a very useful point of reference.
