i believe haltech was very dirty about it all
Given the relationship with previous relationship with Haltech I understand why he was keen to stick with them. His ae86 ran faultlessly for years.
And once you chop out allot of the factory loom, it would be a bitch to put it back in again.

Oh FUK!
There are rumours floating about they wanted the exhaust can vvti locked and only control the inlets?
Not the first company to feel used nor will they be the last

How can they be dirty about it? They sell a product not designed to do the job it was required to do. Sponsorship or not it's pretty ordinary.
That said it's been known for sometime the haltechs will only control the inlet cam, so surprising they were involved to begin with unless they promised something they couldn't provide in time.
Either way this car has a far superior bit of gear now, give anyone the option between motec and haltech. Motec will get the nod every time!

That's fair, plus you don't want a comp car running unproven code on the ecu either.
It was common knowledge about the haltech ecu being dumped but kept hush hush in the engine blowing up

No one wants to advertise their failures, especially at the power levels that the engine had. It would be bad PR for all involved, Toyota, engine builder, Engine tuner & MoTec.
These setbacks happen when your pushing the limits.

Soo someone has confirmation the engine blew up? I heard the same reports but everyone reported the motor to look perfectly fine while it was on display at WTAC

The motor in the car did look fine though i expect it was a stock one thrown in for the display
Otherwise why didn't they run the new car?
