Besides engines and what not the biggest thing would be hydraulic clutch in the ae71. It makes a 4a conversion that much easier starting with an ae71. It's not the hardest job in the world by any means so its not worth paying much more for an ae71

the first letter in the chassis code of toyotas denotes the Engine the car came with so with A or K means either A or K series engine.

The E denotes thebody type, in this case corolla. The first number at the end determines which shape of that model with that engine, the second number incdicates an updated model in that same body style. KE70 was first then came the AE71, corolla went fwd with a new body shape after that so along came the AE82, AE85, then came another enw body shape called AE92, AE93 AE95 etc etc.

    AE71 has 1.6 litr 4AC engine, KE70 has 1.3 litre 4K-C engine

    AE71 has T50 5 speed Gearbox, KE70 Has K50 or K40 5 and 4 speeds gearboxes.

AE71 only came in slanty front headlight model, KE70 came in both flat front model and slanty modern front.

Interior trim is slightly different depending on models, as with exterior trim, colours.

I should have just told you to go on wikipedia or search the forums in the search bar up the top ^^ but im bored.

Different radiator support so you cant use a ae71 rad(top rad outlet other side) in a ke(4age convo) although it looks like you can.
Ae71 has side mirrors in the corners of the window, ke70 have 1 on drivers door

    The 1.6l vs 1.3 means a 4age into the ae71 technically doesn't require engineering

In a nut shell you can buy an ae71, drop in a 4age by swapping over the mounts and bolt the T50 straight up to it. Get some custom wiring and drive it.

The 4age conversion bits (Hydraulic Peddle box , engine Xmember, tail shaft, Engine mounts and gearbox xmember , Clutch Slave etc. ) are easily $500 to purchase.
