wow, just wow.
Update!
Decided to run a cleaner dash setup rather than have gauges drilled in everywhere, so I jumped on ebay and bought a Datsun 240K instrument cluster. It's got everything I need in one unit which will be a cleaner look.
Got the tray sprayed in black
Then got the colorflek texture coat on to try and hide the dings and shit
Had to cut off the throttle cable mount on the carbs and make my own. Turned out pretty neat!
The new manifold for the carbs. My aluminium welding isn't the greatest but the thing is sealed/smoothed so it's turned out okay. I'll just spray it black and it'll make it a bit more subtle.
All polished and completely smoothed
Installed:
wow, just wow.
Siiiick! I fly home tomorrow, will crank some updates!
Painted. Pics once My camera decides to work.
Here's a few snaps of the paint. Sprayed it in my garage on a hot day, turned out that nice off the gun that I doubt I'll bother cutting it back and buffing it.
Tailgate/latches installed:
Really glad I decided to take the time and muck around doing these, It's turned out super neat and definitely cleaned the back up while keeping functionality of the tray itself.
Front all together. Front lip is mounted a bit higher than most 1200's usually run them, I didn't really want it on there to make the front look lower but more to finish it off nicer and give it a bit more of a tougher look. Using allen key bolts to hold it in to give it sort of a rocket bunny vibe.
Next up: Wiring, fuel plumbing and brake line plumbing.

Sick
Pedal box is finished and installed, steering column is in and hooked up to the rack, Tailshaft loop got made this afternoon and tomorrow I'll be making a brace between the leaf springs to help stiffen up the rear and to also mount the handbrake cables to.
Last piece of welding on the car once I finish that brace off!
Fuel hard lines are back in and mounted.
New brake line ordered, and bought a new flaring tool so brake lines should be done relatively soon.
liking where this is going! keen to see how it turns out
KE70 steering column installed w/ combination switch. Had to mod the firewall mount to get the column as short s possible in the cabin because room is going to be tight in this thing!
Tried to get a photo of the pedals that I made up. They were cut/bent/shaped to suit the new brake booster and clutch master perfect. The old pedals were fouling on the brake booster and wouldn't go around the new steering column either.
Welded up a brace for between the leaf springs. It'll stiffen up the rear while also giving me something to tie my H/brake cables to for securing. Don't know why people don't do this more often?
Bent up/flared my new brake lines and got them installed. Getting closer!
And right now, I'm in the middle of an absolute shitfight of a wiring job. The previous owner has completely hacked the loom to bits to fit in kill switches and all sorts of shit so I'm trying to work out what used to be where. Fuckin Awesome.
