Saw that on Speedhunters and thought "I wonder how that bloke on ae86dc is going?"
So here I am! Like most of us, slowly coming along. Will be neat once it's done

My AE86 full restoration:

still happening. Only have the hatch left to straighten up and prime. Then I'll start spraying it up.
The rust converting stuff I used was junk and I can see surface rust coming back to there will be some rework :/ so I'll spend some dollars and get some proper stuff like kbs, same maker as por15.
Shockworks has been doing a bit of suspension tuning and the car is handling way better then I thought it would. So much easier to keep my speed through corners, a massive help as its a slug to begin with.
Scored a free motor aswell. Pretty much the same engine that's in it already but with close to 400, 000ks less so should feel less tired, will clean it up and shave the head, thinner head gasket and new water pump and slap it in.
Other plans are retrim the interior but that can wait till after painting. Located some cool material so that'll be fun.
Did manage to club rego my ae86 and have been enjoying driving that on occasion, such a different car to the civic. I'll admit this wagon has made me quite the honda fan, especially ed/ef hatches and sedans and older accords also catch my attention. ... still have a fond dislike of preludes though so I wouldn't class myself as a honda "boi" just yet

Finally scored some LS recaro seats.
I'll retrim them to match the grey interior.
Currently working 6 days a week so not much else has happened with the paint, scored a d16 vtec head aswell.

Fitted eg vti civic calipers and rotors, 15x6.5 90's style wheels with goodride rs semis
Rear end in primer aswell
Hopefully paint over Christmas

The drive home was magic today, suspension, wheels, brakes, tyres and seats just worked perfectly together. Was raining hard but it had so much grip and gave great feedback. Been through alot with this car and enjoyed all of it.
Completely missed the moment while in the moment. .. this happened
Happy half a million k's bub, heres to another 500, 000

Thanks for joining up peter, lots more to come. Hopefully some paint or maybe even an engine swap over Christmas.
One great thing that came out of my ae86 ownership is the friends I've made along the way, I've had some great offers lately that I cant pass up on. Lets see what happens from here

Exhaust tip welded on. Twin 3" outlets, bigger than what I wanted originally but was really cheap and its actually pretty quiet.
