How will the car go through a roadworthy with the side drafts on it? I'm not suspecting Captain planet (The EPA) will allow this to be on the roads.
So my carbs arrived today
Pretty satisfied with them, still smelt of petrol and plenty of oil on the uni filter, which confirms they were in use recently as advertised, and in working order.
40mm Mikuni/Solex, on a 2T manifold.
Will buy a Redline manifold most likely. They seem to be the most likely.
(WTB smallport carb manifold, WTS 2T carb manifold)
And here will be my crabed 4AGE when they're installed:

It's not what you know, it's who you know.

Are you good mates with an engineer that will put his ass on the line for you?
Who said anything about getting it engineered? (I do know one, though)
A "good" Rwc is easy to get, and if it's being registered on permit, the car never goes to vicroads at any point in the process.
I only face the issue if being pulled over once it's on the road.
I am also aware of what requirements it will need to meet in order to be engineered, should that happen.

Nah. Just making sure he knows. Huge fines from the boys in blue
for having side drafts. I would go sidies on my ke70 if I wasn't such a little bitch.
Of course I'm aware. I can't go from EFI to carbs and expect it to be a completely legal and encouraged modification.

We don't have those problems in QLD. And police wouldn't know anyway.
I'd try and get a Japanese manifold, the redline brands casting looks average.
