The engine and how hard it revs are the thing you left out.

Is it a V8 that revs to 5000rpm? or a turbo F20C that revs to 9000?

Given the torque that the engine should have I would be sticking with the 3.9 mine has around 240hp atw with a w57 and BW with 3.9 and KAAZ 2 Way and it matches pretty well on the track.

Hilux diffs are heavy, but handle the power well.

Yea im not worried about the weight just dont wanna be breaking diffs all the time, and yes diffs are fairly cheap and easy to get, well the 3.9 ratio isnt easy to find but other ratios are.

Nathan, it is a cut down Commodore Borg Warner diff. Very similar to the R31 Skyline diff. It is a reasonably easy conversion if you can get the diff shortened cheaply. If not some of the Toyota stuff makes more sense as they are not nearly as wide.

There is not that much difference between a 3.9 and 4.1 really at the end of the day. What sort of turbo are you running? How quickly you come on boost and the size of your power band may mean that the 4.1 works better with your engine. Mine boosts early and hard so I am happy with the 3.9 as it will easily pull it along when coming out of corners and actually helps load the engine up a bit.

    Cheers

Im running a td05 evo 2 turbo with a 20g compressor wheel 3" cover 7cm exhaust housing. Comes full boost around 3000rpm all way threw with the cams. Yea im tempted to just run the 4.1 but the 4.1 i do is noisy may need bearings and the crown wheel had rust on it. Can get a 3.9 ut expensive around 500 all up with lsd. Cheers for the help
