Very cool, I love hatches
Hey all
I've been lurking around here for a while and i'm starting to get sick of the message on the top of every page telling me to make a post so here it is.
I'm currently trying to get an old RA65 roadworthy which has been a lot of fun. It's my first car and I haven't really had any mechanical experience before it so I've been learning a sh!t tonne of stuff over the past few months and this forum has been a mad supply of info. So far i've done a bunch of suspension work, thrown some new brake discs on the front, replaced the starter and am slowly beginning to do some body work. I've got a much more in depth thread on MCM if anyone cares to read it () but for the mean time here are a couple of pics so far:

looks good, post some more on hear
Good choice.
Yeah fuck that MCM shit
Oh holy shit it's Marv-senpai himself. I've read through your old RA65 thread like 3 times.
Sure! erm well i went out today to find the master brake cylinder has shit itself and is leaking, so that's not so good. Fluid everywhere.
You might be able to tell from the photos but its had a hit on the front passenger corner (hence corner light missing) which wasn't very bad but snapped the bumper reinforcement bit so i replaced that this arvo with a 'new' one. The panel on that side has been smacked up a bit as well and i'm still deciding whether to try and salvage it or not as the mounts are pretty warped and it's had some pretty dodgy panel beating done to it.
Here's the old bumper bit vs the new one:
Oh and this is probably the biggest obstacle atm. The exhaust is snapped in half just after the cat so i'm on the hunt for a new one. I might just have to get something custom built for it cos i can't find anything second hand online and the garages i've been to have said they can't get a stock one in. It seems like overkill to get a whole custom set up but I don't think there's much else i can do. I'll keep hunting i guess
Shouldn't cost over $200 for a shop to do it from the headers back? Just get 2 1/2" all the way back with an el cheapo muffler. Probably put extractors on first if you intend to keep the oily boat anchor that is the 22Re.
Looks clean. Just need to paint that hatch haha
Cut the springs. Lock the diff. Do the dori.
Oh wow, thought it would be way more than that. I am a little attached to the 22RE, would getting custom extractors be a similar price?
I've really got to go and get some quotes
22Re's came in Hilux's as well, so there already plenty of extractors readily available. Suss out eBay
