can someone please recommend a good car mechanic in Adelaide, preferably north of the city and preferably someone who is familiar with old japanese cars (not compulsory but preferable)?
I'm having a real hard time finding one, I thought I knew a good mechanic Kmart at Clovercrest but after some mistakes they made I've reconsidered. First mistake they made when my car was ready to be picked up is some electrical connection was disconnected and my sunroof and power windows wouldn't operate, had to wait about an hour for them to figure it out and fix it. Apparently it was an apprentice, but still no excuse, apprentices should be supervised. The other mistake they made but won't admit to was not properly tightening something (maybe sump plug?) on my GT4 and I lost all the oil and the oil pressure light didn't work till it was too late so the whole engine was destroyed. After that I vowed never to go back.
now the exhaust is falling off my car so I desperately need to find someone good who won't destroy the vehicle or rip me off.
is it just me or is the car mechanic vocation one of the most dodgy professions around? Theres so many mechanics around, why is it so dam hard to find a good one?
what mechanic do you other AE86 owner's use? I assume everyone probably does everything themselves on their Sprinters? Unfortunately I don't have the time, patience, space or tools to do it myself.

I use to go to Profix on Pultney St, nice guys that did some stuff for free or a cheaper price. Business has changed to Automasters now (same company) so I guess the same people would be working there
