Here is RE001 confirmation from Bridgestone themselves (in-case we needed it? Which I don't think we did haha)
"Jarrad
I have read your query and looked throughout the country and there is only one tyre in WA and one in Townsville. Unfortunately this tyre has stopped production as you are aware and has been replaced with the RE002, unfortunately not in your size requirement.
You could try the Bridgestone Turanza T001 as this is an asymmetric tyre also. its main focus however is touring luxury with less of an emphasis on higher grip levels. Having said that though the same pattern was used on the Mazda 6 in the celebrity race at the last F1 meet in Aus.
The other alternative would be the MYO2 this tyre is an entry level performance tyre and is the older style directional tyre."

Haha, we definitely don't need the reminder!
ALOT of tyre shops don't deal directly with bridgestone though
They deal with 'tyre wholesalers,' some of which still have plennnnnty of stock

RE-11 offer rim protection. The above photo is 185/60R14 on an 8J and 8.5J. I can lay the 8J down on the ground without the wheel lips touching and the 8.5J only just touch when laid down.
Unfortunately though, RE-11 are not locally available (I had these imported), so that doesn't really help the search for decent tyres.
^hero's mesh?
Also where and how much did you get them for? Im thinking we should organise a group buy here and stock up on 14's
