Really depends on your use for it, if your just welding car panels and lighter stuff you could get away with a 160ish amp mig, but if you want to tig alloy you'll want something 200-300 amp
So I'm in the market to get a welder what size would you recommend for me it's only for the car I do want something with gas and also would it be a benefit if I got a mig tig as I'd like to learn ally welding too. I've used a welder a few times but I'm no pro hence why I want to learn thanks guys

If you want to buy your first and last welder a migomag is a great brand allot of panel shops have.
I have a 160amp cebora machine which works well, it set me back about 1k from weldquip, with regulator / helmet and gloves etc. I can do up to about 8mm plate which is plenty for knocking together an exhaust, mount or reparing panels.
Make sure u get decent quality gas, pretty sure bunnings do it now without bottle rental.

Here is the item number for eBay 130697577378
You will get the most use and value for money from a gassed MIG welder for a car IMO.
Most car work is welding thick steel for chassis parts or thin body panels - both can be done with MIG.

That could do the job pretty well, I have never heard of that brand though and I always worry about buying bigger items like this off of ebay, I worry about how a warranty claim would turn out
