    Default Electric impact wrench/rattle gun

    Hi All,

I’m considering buying an electric impact gun – prefer a 240volt one to get some decent power from it.

Id like some feedback on people who have used one – am I wasting my time and money buying one?
What brands have people used? And what were the specs on the impact gun (ie Nm or ft/lb)?

Are they capable of removing rusted suspension nuts/bolts?

    Thanks, Steve

I have a Milwaukee brand cordless electric rattle gun with 1/2" end, thing is amazing, I originally bought it to make changing wheels at the track easier but it never leaves my hand now

Milawakee or hitachi cordless rattle guns are good. For stuff that is really tight tho nothing beats a big breaker bar.

I wasn't aware that there are two different ones, it's big and it snaps bolts that's all I know

I have one of them. The regular M18 type 1/2 with the friction ring, not the pin detent thing. If you just wanna do wheelnuts, don't bother with this thing. It overtorques the things way too quickly. Might just be me though. It rules otherwise. Haven't come across a bolt it couldn't undo.

The newer M18 fuel thing is rated to 600ft-lbs (450 for a reg. M18).

18-20V Cordless is the way to go. I've got an older Snap On gun and it still works just fine but the Milwaukee Fuel range look really nice, different torque settings for low and hi, other than that the IngersollRand W7150 is just as good.

The 18v Milwaukee ones are pretty decent, a bit big if you want to do anything smaller than m12 bolts though.

I have an 1/2" 18v ryobi which been going strong for 2 years, and a 3/8" brushless Milwaukee 12v one which is awesome for any bolt anywhere..
