Well that was a resounding no then.
Hi Everyone,
I have been thinking lately that Brisbane is really lacking a good get together for all Ae86 drivers and other enthusiasts. What I have come up with is an idea to run a track day at Norwell Park. Now the idea is in its infant stage and I am just looking to gauge peoples interest. What I propose is a full day at the track with a number of different driving events with a supplied lunch/refreshments. I have only just started talks with the people who run Norwell Park so costs haven't been worked out yet but the day would likely be around the $350 to $400 mark.
What I am thinking is the whole track to ourselves starting with a few sessions of hot laps (say 5-7 laps repeated 3-4 times) then move onto some kind of Time Attack session starting with a standing lap and either 1-2 flying laps. Have a break for lunch and then maybe move into some kind of Motorkana event then finish the day off with more hot laps. I have to find out if events like this can be timed accurately and maybe we can find some sponsors of the Ae86drivingclub to supply some small prizes for each event (with categories).
To make this event viable and keep costs down I would probably be looking to have the numbers above 20 and cap it at say 30-35 cars. Once again this is only the very early stages so I am very open to suggestions.
Cheers
Chris

Haha everyone is asleep! But I am keen if it ever got up and going.
Yeah I don't think this will happen. The post was up for 7 days with not one comment. I'm doing this as a "not for profit" and would need at least 20 definite attendees for it to be cheap enough. The cost of hiring the track and insurance is very high so the more drivers the better.
