Well I'll be a monkeys uncle! Makes sense they wanted to improve torque at lower rpm for rally hence longer pipes but yeah inlet #4 curled to dodge booster looks worst for laminar flow.
Off hand do you recall what cams that rally car was running? Also looking at it again now the adapter for the throttle boddies is very short, almost just like a sandwhich plate to head.

The length from inlet to throttle is main cosideration for velocity stacks but length between throttle and inlet port to valve into cylinder is important for response and tuning characteristics.
I've seen 4-5kW gains across the rev range with just 30mm bell mouths (in airbox on std AE111) but similar midrange gains from 70-75mm open trumpets on 20V too (not as much top end 2-3kW).

Back on topic Touge Boy's stacks and inlets look inline with ports and including the manifold considerable overall length. Not crunching any numbers but it should pull quite hard and make plenty of torques to spin those 9.5" Watanabes Really getting close now mate!

Yah it sucks, but I would rather wait and finish it properly and to a standard Im happy with, rather than just slap it together and not be happy with it.

it is the 101 rad and sitting on the bottom mounts, but is tilted back and leaning on the motor, and im taking the pick from above that. When hard up against the rad support it only sits about 30mm higher, so not too bad. I have to weld some top mounts on sometime this week.

cheers karl, cant wait to let it loose! Throttles/stacks are something Ill look at when I start chasing grunt, but they'll do fine for the time being.

Think it was running something around the 272 mark with lots of lift. The manifold was a Redine DCOE manifold with custom adaptor plates from 4mm Alu for the 20v throttles. This was before we got the T3 adaptors made up.
